Great Lakes Golden Retriever Rescue is dedicated to finding Golden Retrievers in need of their forever home. We work hard to find the right home for the Goldens we receive from various situations. Our Goldens typically come from owner surrenders and shelters. After we take in a Golden, we ensure proper vetting and, if necessary, behavioral training. Our organization is very passionate and dedicated to doing what’s best for our Goldens and we have foster homes throughout the State of Michigan that feel the same way. We adopt dogs to families located in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. If you are interested in adopting one of our Goldens, please complete our adoption application. An interviewer will contact you to help you find the perfect Golden! If you are interested in volunteering with Great Lakes Golden Retriever Rescue, please visit our volunteer page.

Hi friends! It’s me, Nash 🐾I’ve got some pawsome news to share—my surgery went great! On Thursday, I officially became a tripod pup, and I’m already learning how to zoom around on three legs like a pro. The best part? Thanks to your amazing support, we raised enough money to cover the entire cost of my surgery! 💛It’s only been a few days, but I’m feeling better than ever. I’ve traded my bandages for some stylish little shirts, and I’ve already figured out how to get around pretty fast—even if I tumble sometimes! My foster parents keep telling me to rest, but I’m just so excited to play and explore this brand new chapter. Thank you for helping me get here—I’m one happy pup! ... See MoreSee Less
Hey there, friends! My name is Nash and I’m just over 3 months old. I have a big heart and even bigger dreams for the future! I was born with a deformed front paw—no toes and no pad on the bottom. Pretty crazy, right? I was a good boy for my x-rays, which showed some abnormalities in my ankle. Despite all this, I have a ton of energy and do my best to keep up, but this paw is slowing me down and causing me some pain.My friends at GLGRR have taken me in and promised to give me the opportunity to live the happiest life possible. After seeing how much my paw affects me, my orthopedic specialist recommended amputation to give me a chance at a more comfortable and active life. It's a big step, but I’m young and full of spunk—I’ll adapt quickly to life as a three-legged boy! Right now, I don’t use that paw much anyway and it gets in the way when playing, so I’m ready for this new adventure!I need your help to cover the cost of the surgery, which is scheduled for April 10. Any donation, big or small, will help me take that first step toward a pain-free, joyful life! Plus, I’m super lucky—GLGRR has a generous donor who will match your donations, which is so pawsome!Thank you for supporting me on this journey. Your kindness means the world to me! And P.S.—I’ve attached some of my most adorable photos. Aren’t I the cutest little guy you’ve ever seen? I have to admit, though, I do love licking the camera (and sometimes chewing it), so getting pictures of anything other than my face is a bit tricky for my foster family. But hey, my face is pretty cute, right? With love and tail wags,Nash 🐾You can make donations by visiting us at www.glgrr.org/donate or by mailing a check to the address below:GLGRRPO Box 1455Grand Rapids, MI 49501 ...
