About GLGRR

Great Lakes Golden Retriever Rescue is dedicated to finding Golden Retrievers in need of their forever home. We work hard to find the right home for the Goldens we receive from various situations. Our Goldens typically come from owner surrenders and shelters. After we take in a Golden, we ensure proper vetting and, if necessary, behavioral training. Our organization is very passionate and dedicated to doing what’s best for our Goldens and we have foster homes throughout the State of Michigan that feel the same way. We adopt dogs to families located in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. If you are interested in adopting one of our Goldens, please complete our adoption application. 🐾 Hi, I’m Silas! I’m looking for my forever foster and retirement home!I’m an 8-year-old blind Golden Retriever with a big heart, a goofy Golden smile, and so much love to give. I’ve had to move homes a few times recently, and I’m really hoping my next move will be my LAST.I may need a little extra care, patience, and time to feel safe in a new home, but I promise I’m worth it! I love slow walks with lots of sniffing, chewing on bones, and being close to my people. Oh, and I’m pretty great at finding the couch, even without my eyesight! 😉I need a loving, stable home that understands my special needs and will help me feel safe and secure.
