Jax
We’ve got TOO many pics of the Jax-Man to send them all!! He’s a SWEETIE! I’m a sucker for a dog and he has quickly become my buddy! Wherever I go, he’s there. He wants to be with his dad! We truly believe he picked us! When Lana and I went to see him for the first time at Pam’s house, he grabbed me by my arm and dragged me into Pam’s living room and proceeded to love on me for 15
minutes! He just wanted to be petted, loved on and held. Lana and I both knew RIGHT THERE that we NEEDED him and he us. We were well behaved adopters and waited until other people had their chance to visit with him, but we made sure to let it be known that we wanted to be his new “pack”. We got him two weeks later! When we went to pick him up, he jumped right into the car and came home with us. When he got home, it was as if he had never been anywhere else. He found his toy basket, his food dish (a necessity with him!) and several places to call a bed, including the couch.
Jax has hip issues and an arthritic elbow, but that doesn’t slow him down! He runs like the wind! He loves to chase a ball, play tug with the biggest ropes that Lana can find, and he insists on his daily walks through the woods to Sand Creek. He’s VERY well behaved, loves to be pet and wants to sleep on your feet. He’s gained 25 pounds in the last 5 months, doesn’t get in mischief anymore, and he’s become a VERY gentle boy! He loves his brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and even spinach. If we eat it, he’ll eat it! No junk though! Now he waits until it’s given to him and he doesn’t try to hide food anymore. He will even take food from your mouth without touching you! We see to it that he has vitamins, supplements and other meds for his issues and he takes them all readily. He’s very clean. We’re still working on his manners with other dogs, but he’s improved a lot. We have one pic of him with one of our grooming client’s dog and he gets a little better every time someone comes. All of our clients know of Jax and GLGRR and are amazed and impressed! Many didn’t know that such an organization existed and one or two have expressed interest in getting another Golden through GLGRR.
We’re glad that Jax found US! We may be looking for a companion for the old boy, since he loves the visits from client’s dogs and seems sad when they leave, but he’s soon busying himself with his HUGE black Kong, and begging for a walk to the creek. In short, Jax is happy, content, and confident and loves his new “pack” home and surroundings. I don’t think he could be any happier, and I know WE couldn’t! Thank you GLGRR! –Kim and Lana H.
