Sadie

Sadie

Sadie, formerly Jasmyn, was our blessing from Turkey. I had lost my precious Bella in April of 2019 to a fast and furious battle with Lymphoma after 14 years. I have watched many of my Goldens cross the rainbow but this one was the hardest. After this loss, I swore off any new dog, even though I still have my Golden Emma, who is now 14-years-old. Emma is the only one left of my original four Golden girls.

Fast forward to August, and I had just started looking around in late July at Golden sites. I needed my puppy fix without committing. One night, while still at work, I came across a dog that I knew was my baby, Sadie. I read her bio and thought TURKEY?? So then I used Google and YouTube to learn more about the Turkey rescues. After my blood pressure dropped, I knew I wouldn’t stop till I had her in my arms and sent in the application that night. There was just something in her eyes I knew she was mine.

After all the interviews, I finally got to Jill, Sadie’s foster mom, who is an AMAZING woman. I wanted to adopt her too! We talked, talked and I knew even more so that Sadie was meant to be ours. When we met, Sadie she was a bit stand offish. Which for a Golden was a bit odd, but it didn’t stop me. We spent the next few days shopping for toys, food, collars, blankets – you name it, we got it!

From the day we picked Sadie up, she has been the sweetest, most gentle soul. She is a joy in our life and has given me a piece of my broken heart back. You would never know that Sadie has been through some really bad times. She loves her walks. Pretty much prances around now, head up high and full of confidence. Sadie is not fond of squirrels, but has gotten better. Sadie adores people and our grandchildren. Never once has she shown any aggression. We were all amazed how loving she is with everyone who enters the house. She cries at the door when she sees the kids coming home.

She has started playing with toys and fetching. Sadie has her favorite spider from her foster sister Kelly, and she likes to protect it. For me, Sadie is my side kick. Wherever I am, she’s there. Sadie even comes to work in a medical office a couple of days a week too. The patients love her! I look at her sometimes and wonder what she remembers and if we have erased any of those bad memories. Sadie has been one of the best decisions of our lives and we cannot imagine life without her. In my heart, I know that Bella sent Sadie to me. Thank you, thank you to everyone involved in rescuing Sadie, bringing her to the US, and fostering her. She is my baby forevermore. –Linda F.
